How to Get to Noosa

Are you trying to find the best information on how to get to Noosa? Here is a simple guide on how to get to Noosa. Essentially you have 3 ways of getting to Noosa – you can fly to Noosa, drive to Noosa or alternatively take the train to Noosa.

Flying to Noosa

The closest airport to Noosa is the Sunshine Coast airport. It is located in Marcoola which is close to the town of Maroochydore. There are daily flights to the Sunshine Coast airport from all the major capital cities across Australia. The three major low cost carriers – Tiger Airways, Jetstar and Virgin Blue – fly into the Sunshine Coast airport so you can book online with them. If you are planning to come from overseas the closest international airport to Noosa is Brisbane.

Driving to Noosa

You can drive north to Noosa from Brisbane along the Bruce Highway and it will take you approximately an hour and a half.  Take the Noosa signed exit at Eumundi and it will be signposted from there on in. If coming from the north, Noosa is located 60 mins drive from Gympie heading south on the Bruce Highway. Take the Noosa signed exit at Cooroy and take the Cooroy Noosa Road to all the way to Noosa.

Bus to Noosa

You can also take the bus to Noosa. We recommend using Australia’s premier bus company Greyhound if planning to visit by bus.

Noosa by Rail

You can get the Queensland rail service from Brisbane central and Roma Street to Nambour on the Sunshine Coast where Sunbus will collect passengers and travel to Noosa.

Noosa Trips: Visit the Australia Zoo

Not only is Noosa arguably Australia’s greatest tourist destination, but it also is not very far from Australia’s finest zoo – the Australia Zoo. If you want to discover all the wildlife that Australia has to offer then there is no better place to go than the Australia Zoo which is brimming full of wildlife experts that continue the love of animals that the legendary Steve Irwin always had. Not only is there an incredible amount of wildlife on display, but there is also live shows throughout the day that both educate and illustrate just how fascinating these creatures can be.

My favourite show is the crocodile show. Feeding a very hungry croc is dangerous territory and they can attack with lightning speed and jump clean out of the water. It’s one hell of a sight. Another great show is the elephant show. The Australia Zoo rescued some elephants from a circus and they can do some really incredible things.
